Truman throws himself into most activities willingly and whole-heartedly. His work ethic and focus is outstanding and it is a rare 'off' day that he doesn't give 110% effort to the activity at paw. In 2012 Truman began trialling in novice agility and jumping, and achieved the third pass for his JD title at the ASCV trial in July with a first place. With this pass, he obtained a qualifying score and was Runner Up in the 2012 Most Versatile Aussie award. On the day he was also Runner Up in the Herding trial, half a point behind the winning score. . In October 2012 he gained the third pass for his AD. His JDX title was achieved at the Aussie Shepherd Club of Victoria's trial in July 2013. With this pass, he obtained a qualifying score and was Runner Up in the 2013 Most Versatile Aussie award for the second year in a row. At the end of September he collected his fifth pass and ADX title as well. Trialling for a short time in Masters agility,Truman currently has 2 ADM passes, but age has caught up with him and although he has multiple clear rounds, we are finding it tough going to make the course times. . . After circumstances combined to enable regular herding training, Truman obtained two HSAs passes at the Aussie Shepherd Club herding trial in August 2010, winning a first place and highest Aussie Shepherd qualifying score. He completed his title at the Aussie Shepherd Club herding trial in March 2011. At the Aussie Shepherd Club of Vic herding trial in August 2011 he had two nice runs in Started A, scoring 95 for a third place, and 86 for a second place. As a team we are still getting the hang of driving, but continue to trial occasionally in Started, where he is generally a focused, consistent worker. . Finishing off a big year (in more ways than one), Truman was awarded Best in Show at the 2009 ASCV Championship Specialty show. Thanks to handler Sharna McDermott, and judge Ms Linda Millman (Canada) for recognising his type, solid topline and flowing movement. Truman also won Best in Show at the ASCV Specialty Open Show, May 2008. Thanks to judge Ms Kerry Webb, and handler Sharna McDermott. At the ASCV Specialty Championship Show in November 2008, he placed second in a large Open Dog class under specialist breeder judge Sheila Polk (USA). _ In May 2008, Truman also obtained his ET title. He traveled the 20 km easily and was ready to do the same distance again. At the final vet check, his heartbeat was the same extremely low rate it had been in the morning and the vet commented that had he been a breed that all have similar markings, she would think he had been swapped for a different dog. When you throw yourself into everything so completely, you need plenty of chill-out time too. Truman has always been an expert leaner. . . He finds joy in all aspects of life, such as a good roll in the grass, or a satisfying stick chewing session. . .
